SDP Leader, Segun Osoba, Backers Reduce Stay In Political Base ‘Abeokuta’ To Meetings & Parties

Leader of political Social Democratic Party, Olusegun Osoba has reduced his stay in political base, Abeokuta the Ogun state capital to events, parties and meetings.

This development is a radical departure from attitude adopted in days leading to the general election in which the party came out empty handed societynowng.com learnt.

Osoba and his SDP crew had camped in Abeokuta and transformed into it political base in the face of a perceived mega battle with incumbent Governor Ibikunle Amosun and his All Progressives Congress team.

Osoba had defected from the APC along with then deputy governor Segun Adesegun, Aremo Segun Osoba Senator Gbenga Kaka, Senator Gbenga Obadara, his son and house representatives member, Olumide and some other elected officials on the bill of APC as a result of protracted in fighting with Governor Amosun for control of party structure.

Believed to have struck a pact with President Goodluck Jonathan for funding in exchange for political support, keen watchers of the politics of Ogun state backed the former governor to give Amosun and his APC a run for their money and strength.

But the result of the election fell short of expectations by a million yard!

SDP failed to win any position and all it’s stalwarts, that defected from APC with Osoba to power the party, failed to retain their seats!.

Findings by societynowng.com revealed immediately after the election, Osoba and his ‘backers’ changed their style of operation.

‘They don’t stay much in their different bases again, particularly Abeokuta’ a source on ground revealed.

‘They only come for events, meetings to keep appearances and at times parties’ another grounded source disclosed.

Though party leader, Osoba is said to be out of the shores of nigeria, he is said to have drastically reduced time spent in Abeokuta before he journed out – and his stalwarts are said to continue this trend

Different sources lend credence to these disclosures with their assertions all maintaining unlike before the election that made nonsense of the electoral weight of Osoba and his party, the SDP chief promoters are now ‘scare commodities’ in Ogun state, particularly Abeokuta.
