There is a realignment going on the government of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and amongst his backers outside of government.

Information revealed that the objective is to put the state helmsman second term ambition on a better footing – away from the accolades of performance.

Societynow gathered of special interest to stakeholders in Ambode’s re-election agenda is the management of information about the candidate and his government at this critical period.

The battle to ensure he retains party ticket is already on, as well as the fight to make sure he stays in place as governor of Lagos state after next year’s gubernatorial election.

“That is why Kehinde Bamgbetan became commissioner of information as Steve Ayorinde is shipped to the very vital tourism ministry and Idowu Ajanaku upgraded to the position of Special Adviser on Information and Strategy” a source disclosed.

Checks by societynow revealed Bamgbetan, a former council chairman became Commissioner for information primarily to broaden the Governor’s political base.

“That is not to say he doesn’t have an idea of what the job entails, but the primary consideration was further entrenching the governor’s influence and clout” a source explained.

Ajanaku got elevated to the position of information and strategy to do the crunch work.

Though political consideration came to play as well in Ajanuku’s case as well, the service he has to offer weighed more in his favour sources claim.

“It is campaign period all again with certain kind of information strategy regarding response to issues, persons and situation required, a scenario Ajankau thrives in and he has been empowered to do his thing” a source disclosed

Cross samples of opinion revealed Bamgbetan would be in charge of regular government functions and deployment of routine communications about the government and in some case the governor – but Ajanaku would become visible as the subtle and outright “bullish” side of the arrangement.
