Pastor Ituah Ighodalo has attained the golden age. And he signposted this development with a twofold celebration, that was strictly according to the tenets of his faith.
The pastor in charge of Christian ministry, Trinity House, marked the attainment with members of
his church and a some invited guest on Wednesday April 06 and Sunday 10, 2011.
April 6 was actually his birth date.
Trinity church goers claimed that a small reception cum service that was highlighted with a film showing sensitizing on the need for perseverance and faithfulness to one’s dream was staged at the Landmark, Victoria Island site of the ministry on that Wednesday.
A more elaborate version of the event- minus the film viewing – was held on Sunday April 10 2011.
From the hours of 10.a.m. till 3.oo p.m. Trinity House was host to heart lifting praise songs and soul searching sermons in the perfect environment fit for learning – a free flow ambience with inherent emphasis on decorum.
The eight hundred and fifty dinner setting capacity main hall was filled to capacity-with guests spilling over to the children hall and another.
The elegance of the occasion was evident in the simple but beautifully packaged Programme of Event many found hard to even lend to fellow guest at the place unable to lay a hand on one.
Just as the occasion exemplified the kind of open hands the Pastor and worshippers receive guests at the place, the 64 page hard cover Programme of Events parading a lavish picture of the celebrant and wordings ‘Pastor Ituah is Fifty’ , etched in gold on the cover, is a perfect window into the person of the preacher of the word. It laid special focus in words and pictures on his Past, Present and hints into his future amongst other things a last line of the tribute of one his friends ‘Chyke’ that ‘My prayer is that your ambition of becoming the first Nigerian President of America….is realized!!!’
The tributes that portrayed the former Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor a man at peace with his God, Himself and the society were penned by his father, Chief Jeremiah Ighodalo ‘Man Jerry’- the Okhome- Afiame n’ Khovbedeku, Evbokimi (bird that swims in dirty water), Brother Asue, Sister Amie, Governor Babatunde Fashola, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Hakeem Muri Okunola, Leke Oshunniyi, Donald Duke, Otunba Niyi Adebayo,, Wole Akande and others…and of course, his wife and delight able hostess at the two fold celebrations, Ibidun Ighodalo.
Special appearances by King of comedy, Alli Baba and Tee A succeeded by performance by popular gospel artiste Sammy Okposo while guests relish in the offerings of the caterers were a touch that heightened the joy at the 50th birthday celebrations of the man acknowledged a by all as ‘a good man’
And true to form , as gentleman of imitable etiquette the bearer of multiple nicknames ( Brewster, Iture, Jango, Nana,Ohonbamu, Iturix,Hitman,Ighodango, Don Xenox) to the latest P.I – Pastor Ighodalo- waited until all guest departed, including his wife before taking his leave.
