The very close friend of former first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan had disappeared from the scene immediately ex President Goodluck Jonathan lost his re election bid.

Shagaya was until then one of the most powerful women in the immediate past administration and People’s Democratic Party, drawing influence from been an active member of Dame Patience Jonathan’s kitchen cabinet.

She is believed to be one of the major beneficiaries of the Jonathan Administration and wielded such a level of economic and political power to transform her son to party candidate for House of Representatives- in Kwara her state- in the last general election , as well as determine who the then president Bola Shagaya
