The City Boy Movement (CBM) has commended President Bola Tinubu and Nigeria’s security agencies following the successful rescue of the children and teachers abducted by Ansaru terrorists in Oyo State, describing the operation as a major demonstration of the government’s resolve to combat terrorism.

In a statement signed by its National Secretary, Tosin Odufuwa, the group welcomed the safe return of the victims and praised the Armed Forces and other security agencies for what it described as their courage, professionalism and sacrifice.

“We commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to protecting the lives and safety of Nigerians and salute the gallant men and women of our Armed Forces and other security agencies whose courage, professionalism, and sacrifice made this operation possible,” the statement said.

The group stressed that the rescue of the victims without the payment of ransom or any concession to the kidnappers sent a strong signal to criminal groups.

“The safe recovery of the victims without the payment of ransom or any concession to terrorists sends a clear message that the Nigerian state remains resolute in confronting criminality and safeguarding its citizens,” it stated.

According to the City Boy Movement, the operation reflects the growing coordination, intelligence-led approach and operational capacity of the country’s security agencies under the Tinubu administration.

It added that the development should reassure Nigerians that the government remains committed to restoring peace, strengthening national security and ensuring that no community is left at the mercy of terrorists.

While celebrating the successful operation, the group also paid tribute to security personnel serving across the country.

“We remember the sacrifices of our security personnel who continue to risk their lives daily in defence of our nation. Their patriotism and dedication deserve the gratitude and support of every Nigerian,” the statement added.

The organisation reaffirmed its support for President Tinubu’s efforts to tackle terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes, while urging Nigerians to support security agencies through vigilance, cooperation and the timely provision of credible information.

“Together, we will build a safer, stronger, and more secure Nigeria for every citizen,” the statement concluded.
