Information filtering in revealed behind the facade of publicise excuse of need to get to his desk as early as possible, there is yet another reason why new Governor of Lagos state- Akinwunmi Ambode chose not to immediately take over the Marina, Lagos official residence used by his predecessor, Babatunde Fashola.

This move is said not be unconnected with ‘cagey’ relationship between Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and the man he took over from, Babatunde Fashola – the barometer of his party’s success in governance.

Though he tirelessly worked on the campaign train of Ambode to ensure he became his successor after initially kicking against the new Governor’s aspiration- sources claim an uneasy rapport lies between them.

According to a source ‘It is an open knowledge within the top echelon of the Lagos state All Progressives Congress that Fashola eventually supported Ambode for the sake of the party, to protect his legacy by not allowing opposition take over on his watch and ultimately to protect his political goodwill in aspiring for a higher office at the national level – and Ambode knows this as well’

Additional revelation revealed that based on this scenario, they operate a touch –and- go- cagey rapport that makes new Governor Ambode suspect of most of the things he inherited from his predecessor, especially valuables or properties of personal use such as the Marina Official residence.

The public assertion which Fashola’s loyalists interpret as subtle attempt at undermining their out of office patron’s media glitz performance has reared up talks of possible collapse of attempts at stage managing raging differences between the past and incumbent Lagos Governors- should such public disclosures continue.
