Ladi Adebutu Adopts New Strategy In Hunt For Ogun Guber Seat
is rebranding his politics.
Oladipupo Adebutu, the face of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, is rebranding his politics.
The candidate of the PDP for the 2023 Ogun State gubernatorial election is gradually adopting a collaborative approach.
Close watchers of his ways disclosed that the politician, better known as Ladi or Lado, has reduced the toga of opposition and is evolving into the figure of a more embracing alternative option.
“Lado has now adopted a more conciliatory style that is helping him warm his way into the hearts of his opponents’ supporters,” sources say.

Insiders disclosed that a major ploy has been including sympathizers and supporters of opposition political parties in his life-touching gestures.
“This is a departure from when he solely focused on taking care of his hardcore loyalists. But that is not to say there is no difference between what the targets and his main supporters get. While material and cash gifts go all around, transformative opportunities are reserved for staunch loyalists,” sources say.
One of the highlights of Adebutu’s new brand of politics is not just publicly identifying with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over the passing of Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, famously known as Ijaya, but also paying a condolence visit to the family of the late Deputy Chief Whip at the Federal House of Representatives.
“though, she was on the platform of another political party but her leadership style and passion for community development left an enduring impact not just in her constituency but across Ogun State and Nigeria” he declared in his condolence message.

Ijaya, who succeeded Adebutu as the Federal Lawmaker representing Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, passed on after a brief illness on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
The shock of her demise has been gripping for the Ogun State APC.

And Adebutu is keying into the situation to show he is playing politics of mutual understanding with a humane face by identifying with the opposition party in its hour of grief.
The politician, who lost the 2023 gubernatorial election to Governor Dapo Abiodun of the APC by less than fourteen thousand votes—which he heavily disputed—has declared his intention to have another go at the gubernatorial seat in 2027.
