Kogi INEC Office Burnt Down Hours To Supplementary Guber Election Causing Great Tension
Office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Dekina, Dekina Local government has been torched.
The Local government house 29 Units out of the 91 Units INEC ordered a rerun in the ongoing gubernatorial causing great tension in the state.
The office of the electoral umpire was reportedly burnt when unidentified individuals invaded the place at about 5.00a.m today – Friday December 5 2015.
According to information credited to an eye witness in a report featured in The Nation ‘’ “The thugs came in a bus, shot sporadically and razed down the office.” INEC
The supplementary election in the earmarked 91 polling units is scheduled for tomorrow – Saturday December 5 2015.
It is not clear whether the materials for the election have been brought before the attack on the INEC office.
The decision to hold a run office election in the Kogi gubernatorial election has attracted a lot of controversies and violence protest – especially with the death of All Progressives Congress candidate believed to be in pole position to win Abubarkar Audu.
