Insiders: Why Dapo Abiodun Is For Tinubu & Osinbajo In Battle For Next President
presidential primary scheduled for May 30
Insiders insist Dapo Oluseun Abiodun, the 61year old Governor of Ogun State is backing both Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and political leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the race to determine the next President of Nigeria.
Tinubu and Osinbajo played crucial roles in Abiodun’s emergence as the Governor of Ogun State in 2019.
“The talk is that D.A (Dapo Abiodun) is trying to manage the situation so as not to be seen as paying good deeds with evil on both sides” SocietyNow.Ng.
Tinubu and Osinbajo – and others – are neck deep in a fight to secure the ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the presidential primary scheduled for May 30, 2022.
The Governor battling to secure a second term in office is, however, more openly associated with Vice President Osinbajo.
“And you can’t really fault him on that because aside from being the Governor of the state Osinbajo is leveraging to contest for the presidency, they are both from the same zone in Ogun State – Remo.” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.
SocietyNow.Ng gathered that Abiodun’s political play is hinged on the persuasion that the manner of the emergence of the APC presidential candidate should be such it will be easy for all stakeholders to work together to win the election for the party to hold on to the number one position in the country.
“That is why you will that despite D.A’s perceived open support for Osinbajo some in his government publicly identify with Asiwaju Tinubu” SocietyNow.Ng learned.
