Insiders Tell One Of Conditions For Ex- NURTW Chair MC Oluomo To Be First King In Oshodi
one of the most popular commercial nerve centers in Lagos State
Insiders disclosed that although his relationship with his major backers may be redefined, the ambition of MC Oluomo, the former chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), to become the first king of Oshodi is still alive.
Oshodi, one of the most popular commercial nerve centers in Lagos State, is the base of the transport union top shot whose real name is Musiliu Akinsanya.
The long-running top-level player in Lagos State’s transport business has maintained a position as “champion with a vice grip” on happenings in the area for so long that he earned the street anthem “Kosoba lo s’Oshodi, Oluomo lo npe be” — which loosely translates to “There is no king in Oshodi, that is Oluomo’s label” — and he wants to make it official.
Although he is facing fierce opposition from indigenous persons over claims regarding his ancestry, the tremendous political and social backing MC Oluomo enjoys is said to have earned him the go-ahead from “decision makers,” albeit with conditions.
One of the conditions is for a “place worthy of a palace” to be constructed in a location that validates his ancestry in Oshodi while underground canvassing continues.

However, according to observers, this has not yet materialized.
“The arrangement was made before he lost his position as Chairman of the Lagos NURTW to Seego, who was a major supporter of his ambition to become king after a bitter tussle,” according to available information.
Seego, whose real name is Mustapha Adekunle, became the Chairman of the Lagos NURTW in February 2024, riding on the refusal to remain a subordinate while MC Oluomo aspired to the higher office of National President of the NURTW.
They were formerly good friends and close allies before the tumultuous fight that shattered their rapport, with Seego emerging as Chairman of the Lagos chapter of the transport union and MC Oluomo self-styling himself as President Designate in his quest to become the number one man at the national level.
“Before things fell apart, MC Oluomo was supposed to leverage his position as state chairman to put in place the structure befitting a king and everything else that came with it,” according to various sources.
Although his relationship with Seego is soured , there are assertions that the former Lagso NURTW chsirman believes he still has a good.chnacd to realise his ambitikn as the first king in Oshodi.
