“I Didn’t Shun Meeting With President Buhari, I Had Chieftaincy Ceremony To Attend” Gov Fayose

Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose says he didn’t shun meeting President Muhammadu Buhari had with state Governors on Friday.

The face of opposition party, People’s Democratic Party says he had other engagements he couldn’t abandon to go meet with president Buhari, along with other governor’s.

The governor provided reasons for his absence at the governor’s chat with the president via posts on his twitter handle @GovAyoFayose

He posted: “For those insinuating that I shunned d President’s meeting with govs, I didn’t.I had my installation as Apesin of Ado Ekiti slated for today.”

“Guests were already in Ekiti since yesterday for the chieftaincy title installation before I received notice of d meeting with the President.

“There was no how I could have abandoned the people here in Ado Ekiti for the impromptu meeting with the president.”

The President on Friday morning met with leaders of his party, All Progressives Congress and opposition People’s Democratic Party at the Presidential Villa.

He engaged state governors after meeting with the party leaders.

But Fayose a vociferous critic of the President was absent at the meeting.
