It’s almost Detty December season; after a long year of working hard, it’s time to unwind and close the year with a bang. With many concerts and engagements slated for the festive season, you can watch your favourite live concerts and festivals from the comfort of your home.

From The Experience to the Calabar Carnival, DStv will show these live events on its Holiday channel (DStv Ch. 198), which is currently open till January 3, 2025.

Here are some shows to look out for this season:

The Experience

The 19th edition of The Experience is coming on December 6, 2024, with an exciting lineup of world-renowned artists, including Israel Houghton, Chevelle Franklyn, Donnie McClurkin, Sinach, Travis Greene, Micah Stampley, Nathaniel Bassey, Dunsin Oyekan, Adeyinka Alaseyori, Prinx Emmanuel, Moses Bliss, and Mercy Chinwo.

Tagged ‘Jesus Wins,’ hundreds of thousands of worshippers will gather at Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos, for the free, all-night gospel music concert set to be held from 7 pm till dawn.

If you can’t make it to TBS, you can watch with family and friends on DStv’s Holiday channel (DStv Ch. 198 and GOtv Ch. 49) at 9 pm.

Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival

In the spirit of festivities, the Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival, the largest gathering of carol singers in Nigeria, will air on Friday, 13th December on DStv Channel 196 (and GOtv Channel 28) by 7 pm.

The festival of Christian songs, dance, and worship is scheduled to take place at the Unity Park in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Well-attended by top artistes and worshippers, the Carols Festival has previously set a Guinness World Record for the largest assembly of carol singers.

Unusual Praise 2024

Unusual Praise, considered the largest annual Catholic gospel praise and worship gathering in Africa, is an event many look forward to. This year, DStv will broadcast it live on Channel 198 (GOtv Channel 49) at 7 pm on December 13, 2024.

Consisting of worship sessions, inspiring messages, and eucharistic celebration, Unusual Praise brings together thousands of Catholic faithful.

Calabar Carnival 2024

The Calabar Carnival is considered Africa’s largest street party, attracting millions of visitors annually while showcasing Nigeria’s rich culture through varied events.

This year, the month-long festival tagged ‘Our Shared Prosperity’ is set to feature vibrant cultural displays, Christmas concerts, parades, and entertainment. From the African Fashion Fiesta to Nyoro Ekpe, DStv will be airing these key activities live on Channel 198.
