There is an erupting fight in the Osun state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party.

At the center of the development is the planned adoption of Senator Demola Adeleke as party’s candidate for the September 2018 gubernatorial election.

Adeleke’s candidature is being pushed by his more influential brother Deji Adeleke.

The plot is to re-enact the sentiments that helped Demola inherit the Osun West Senatorial seat of his late brother Isiaka Adeleke, the former Osun governor popularly known as Serubawon – instiller of fear.

But his actions since he assumed office, especially penchant for mindless public dancing has not helped Demola’s profile.

He is now regarded as “just in the political space to see out the term of his late brother”.

Insiders disclosed this is the main reason a growing number of people have started kicking against his gubernatorial ambition.

The claim is that a more serious candidate like Omisore cannot be denied the party’s ticket to enhance chances of winning only to hand it over to a man of lesser profile like the dancing Senator.

Sources disclosed talks of sabotage for monetary benefits are speedily adding fuel to the erupting fight against the Senator’s gubernatorial ambition.

The fight reportedly came to be on the heels of strong indications the leadership of the party is tilting towards making Demola the party candidate.
