Ex Speaker Dimeji Bankole Goes Cautious With Guber Campaign

Information filtering in revealed former Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole has adopted a measure of caution with his gubernatorial campaign.

Sources claim the man who is looking to go toe to toe with much vilified Senator Kashamu Buruji to wrestle for the control of the structure of his party, People’s Democratic Party in Ogun state has simmered down a bit on his moves.

And the reason being adduced for this development is talks of raging anti corruption battle at the Federal Level.

Insiders revealed the former Speaker has toned down his activities to avoid ‘’attraction’’ from unwanted quarters.

There are speculations as Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives the gubernatorial aspirant is exposed to questioning by anti corruption agencies as part of investigation into this and that issue.

‘’the thing is, the regime he was directly or indirectly a part of is on trial and by virtue of his former position as a top player in that era, he is exposed to possible invitation by investigators for questioning over this and that ‘’ a source stated.

The fear of Bankole and his crew is that such a situation is not turn into persecution by perceived opponents.

Insiders revealed this is one of the major reasons advisers have charged him to embrace caution in his current move to achieve his gubernatorial ambition.

‘’ he has been advised to strive to remain as much under the radar as possible so as not to attract negative attention’’ a source stated.

Bankole out to wrestle party structure from embattled Senator Kashamu is exploring means to take over government from rival party All Progressives Congress, which incidentally controls the federal government.
