Disgraced Speaker Salisu Buhari Quietly Regaining Political Relevance

Remember Salisu Buhari?

He was the man disgraced out of office as Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives on allegations of fake qualifications and age falsification.

He was the man that first came to town with a Toronto certificate.

After years off the political circle, the former lawmaker is quietly making regaining his mojo.

And testament of this are evident in federal appointments that are coming his way.

He is now a board member of the the Nigerian Industrial Policy and Competitiveness Advisory Council

The body was inaugurated by acting President Yemi Osinbajo last week.

According to information available the the body – made up of leaders from the private and public sectors – is expected to spearhead the industrial agenda that will boost the contribution of manufacturing to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 250 per cent over a five-year period, make her a manufacturing hub for West Africa and diversify the economy from its over-dependence on oil.

And prior to this “huge” federal government appointment former president Goodluck Jonathan gave him recognition by appointing him to the the governing board of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
