Dapo Abiodun Negotiates With Labor To Avert Strike Over Minimum Wage Demand
Charles Oyelesi
Governor of Ogun state Dapo Abiodun has moved to avert the planned strike by Labour Congress in Ogun state over demand for implementation of the minimum wage.
Labor gave notice of a planned industrial action from Thursday, December 19, 2019, if there is no verifiable proof that the minimum wage would be implemented in the state.
In a stealth move to avert the strike action, Secretary to State Government Olatokunbo Talabi invited the labor congress, through a letter addressed to comrade Folorunsho Olanrewaju, the chairman of the Joint Negotiation Committee in Ogun state, to a meeting today.
The meeting is scheduled for 12.00.p.m (noon) at the SSG’s office.

Societynow.ng gathered that the chairman and other representatives of labor have agreed to the meeting but yet to call off the planned industrial action.
‘’It is the outcome of the meeting that will determine whether the strike will be called off or not’’ societynow.ng learned.
