CBN Gov Godwin Emefiele Refuses To Celebrate Birthday

Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele was a year older not too long ago.

He actually turned 56, according to checks by societynow.

But the man whose birth date is August 4 refused to celebrate.

He reportedly – specifically – told friends and well wishers not to engage in the orgy of paid – and unpaid – well wishes and congratulatory messages on and off the media.

Insiders claim the reason behind the strategy very simple.

The man at the helms of affairs of the nation’s apex bank wants to stay off the public glare for all things personal.

He is said to be cultivating a hardcore professional image.

“These are interesting times…as much as possible he wants to stay off the public consciousness and if he eventually needs to be talked about, he wants it to be strictly about his official duties as central bank governor” a source stated emphatically.

Societynow gathered the whole strategy is to avoid attracting the wrong attention.

Emefiele is said to have started putting his foot down on what manner of attention he wants after his wife Margaret was a victim of a daring kidnap along Benin – Asaba expressway about a year ago.
