BUA Group, one of Africa’s leading conglomerates in foods, mining, manufacturing, and infrastructure, has signed a landmark agreement with Starlinger & Co. Limited, a global leader in machinery for packaging materials production.

This partnership marks a strategic move by BUA Group to establish a cutting-edge packaging production facility in Nigeria, with a capacity to produce 600 million polypropylene (PP) block-bottom bags annually.

This initiative will enable BUA Group to diversify its offerings and meet the rising demand for sustainable, innovative packaging solutions. The facility will support BUA’s extensive business operations, including cement, sugar, and flour production, while laying the groundwork for future expansion.

The agreement represents Starlinger’s largest project in Africa and its second-largest worldwide, underscoring the scale and importance of the collaboration.

At the signing ceremony, Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Executive Chairman of BUA Group, emphasized the project’s significance: “As we secure the future of our business through innovative investments, owning a packaging unit is vital. This facility will cater to the packaging needs of our factories and drive our expansion plans.”
