Bayelsa Govt Affirms Commitment To Completing Ongoing Projects

Bayelsa state commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Hon. (Mrs.) Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai has stated that the prosperity government under the leadership of Senator Douye Diri is committed to completing all ongoing projects in the state.

‎Mrs. Koku-Obiyai who stated this at the monthly transparency briefing in Yenagoa, commended the media in the state for their partnership in projecting policies and programmes, advising of journalists against getting involved in partisan politics.

‎The government spokesperson further commended Bayelsans for their continuous support to the administration and urged the people to join the state government in celebrating 30th anniversary of the creation of Bayelsa State scheduled to begin in a few weeks time.

‎”For three decades, Bayelsa has grown from a young state into a state of promise, resilience and progress, and we owe this growth to the collective sacrifice of our people and the visionary leadership we have enjoyed since the creation of this state.

The Technical Adviser to the Governor on Treasury, Accounts and Revenue, Mr. Timipre Seipulou, read out the income and expenditure figures of the state for the months of June and July this year, insisting that the current administration has continued to operate with utmost transparency.

Other top government functionaries at the transparency briefing include the Accountant-General of the State, Tokoni Ifidi, and the Director-General, New Media to the Governor, Dr. Kola Oredipe.

The Chairman of the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Tonye Yemoleigha, led other journalists to the briefing.
