Ayo Fayose Maintains Hold On Party As Loyalists Sweep To Victory In House Of Assembly Primaries Ahead General Elections

Self styled Jollof Rice eating Deity ( Irunmole to onje Jollof) and Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose maintained a firm grip his party structure with the emergence of his preferred candidates as winners of the People Democratic Party tickets for the Federal House of Assemble tickets in his area.

Information filtering in indicate contenders backed by the state helms man became the flag bearers of the PDP in the just conducted House of Representatives and Senatorial primaries in the state.

His ally, Duro Faseyi defeated Senator Ayo Arise to win the Ekiti North senatorial primary.

The governor’s former deputy governor and ardent loyalist Abiodun Olujimi emerged the winner of the Ekiti South Senatorial ticket.

She beat ex senator Sola Akinyede to the ticket.

Ex House of Representatives member and another Fayose team member, Fatima Raji Rasak emerged victorious in a contest that had ex Senator Bode Ola and Obafemi Adewale.

Fatima Rasaki clinched the Ekiti Central Senatorial district ticket.

In the battle for the Federal House of Representatives ticket, Governor Fayose’s men equally out tops.

A key backer and former Chairman Ido/ Osi local government area, Thaddeus Aina claimed the ticket ofr Ekiti North 2 Federal Constituency.

Another no less passionate team Fayose player- Kehinde Agboola, ex chairman Ikole Local Goverment went home with the Ekiti North 1 Federal Constituency ticket.

Another follower and also a former council boss, Akin Awodumila (Gbonyin Local Goverment) got the Ekiti South 2 Federal Constituency ticket.

Others in the Fayose support crew that equally emerged winners are Segu Adekola – Ekiti South 1, Ayodeji Oladimeji – Ekiti Central 1 and Olamide Oni – Ekiti Central 2.

The results, against the background of the same feat in the State House of Assembly PDP primaries election put Governor Fayose firmly in the driving seat of his party machinery in the state.

Whether he achieves the same feat in the general elections remains to be seen.
