…refuses to comment on why he opted not to vote
Segun Abraham, the outwitted candidate of political leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu stayed away from Ondo state today.
And naturally, he did not vote in the ongoing gubernatorial election in the state.
Abraham, widely reported to be favoured by political leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu lost out in the Ondo state All Progressives Congress primary election to flag bearer Rotimi Akeredolu.
The manner the shadow election that resulted in the loss by Oke and others sparked off a chain of reactions that fractured the party in the state with another contestant, Olusola Oke becoming the official candidate of rival party Alliance for Democracy in the ongoing election.
The reaction wasn’t limited to Ondo state, at the national level of the APC it escalated raging conflicts leaders were fighting hard to curb.
Abrahams backer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his sympathisers abstained from campaigning for eventually party candidate Rotimi Akeredolu as was usually the case.
Rumours of underground rapport outgoing governor Segun Mimiko and his preferred choice Eyitayo Jegede was rife.
But there were no confirmations directly or indirectly.
While Abraham remained in the party, he maintained sealed lips on his next move until today.
His action speaks out loud for him.
According to information monitored on thenation newspaper owned by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, a visit to the Ikare, Akoko home of Segun Abraham revealed his absence.
According to the national newspaper an aide to the gubernatorial aspirant revealed ‘’ “He is not in town and I don’t know if he is coming. He didn’t tell me if he was coming or not,”
Further revelations have it that after unanswered calls to his mobile phone, Abraham responded to text message inquiry with ‘’ “No comments please”.
