Aregbesola Reveals Who Calms Him In Moments Of Challenge

Former Osun State governor and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Rauf Aregbesola, has described his wife, Sherifat – fondly called Sheri – , as the source of calm, strength and stability behind his public life.

Aregbesola stated this in a birthday message to his wife, in which he expressed appreciation for her loyalty, kindness and commitment to their family.

He said Sheri had remained a quiet but important force throughout his public journey, providing support during difficult moments and sharing in his moments of joy.

“My darling wife, your strength, grace, and loyalty have been the quiet force behind every step of my public journey, and I remain deeply grateful for the love and stability you bring into my life,” Aregbesola said.

Reflecting on her role in his life, the former governor and minister added: “In moments of challenge, you are my calm; in seasons of triumph, you are my joy.”

Aregbesola, who served as Osun governor from 2010 to 2018 and later as Minister of Interior, is currently the National Secretary of the ADC, where he has been involved in the party’s activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Away from the political arena, however, his birthday message focused on the personal role his wife has played in his life and public journey.

Aregbesola praised Sheri’s personal qualities, saying her kindness, patience and commitment to family continued to inspire him.

“The values you embody, kindness, patience, and a steadfast commitment to family, continue to inspire me daily,” he said.

He described Sheri as not only his wife but also his partner and confidant, adding that she remained central to the family.

“I cherish you as my partner, my confidant, and the heart of our home,” the former minister praised his better half.

He concluded the tribute by wishing his wife a happy birthday: “Happy Birthday Sheri!”
