Information filtering in to societynowng.com revealed that there are strong indications all commissioners interested in becoming the next Governor of Ondo state will quit the cabinet next month.

”Not just commissioners, all cabinet members seeking to become Governor” a source told societynowng.com.

This development comes on the heels of intensified activities by those eyeing the number one position in Ondo state- and their backers.

The governor is not eligible to re-contest after his two term.

The election to determine who becomes the successor of the champion politician with the politics of the state on his palms comes up in October 2016. Gov Segun Mimiko
Information available to societynowng.com reveal not less than three serving commissioners in the current cabinet want’s to become successor of the politcal factor known as ”iroko”.

And their identities are revealed as Commissioner for Environment Sola Ebiseni, His counterpart in Local Government Affairs Bamiduro Dada and the Attorney General Eyitayo Jegede

But their inability to harmonise their interests to back a single aspirant has fragmented the cabinet.

The situation is said to be becoming worse as election date inches nearer.

”So the governor has decided to let them go next month, so that they can properly focus on their ambition without hampering functioning of government” a source divulged to societynowng.com

Insiders further disclose the impending resignation of gubernatorial aspirants is coming on the face of Governor Mimiko’s sticking to his gun not to endorse anybody

Insiders however hinted societynowng.com that an emerging movement made up of stakeholders advocating for maximum use of resources has started a subtle campaign for perceived leading aspirant and Attorney General Eyitayo Jegede to be adopted as consesus candidate.

The directive for all aspirants to resign from the cabinet is expected to be given by the governor later this month (February 2016).
