Akala Wants To Be Next Oyo Gov Without Ajimobi’s Support

Emerging details have it that Adebayo Alao Akala, the former governor of Oyo state has refused to let go the ambition of succeeding his successor.

He is still holding on tight to the ambition and weighing his options societynow.ng learned.

This is said to be in the face of lack of support from incumbent Abiola Ajimobi.

Akala who served as immediate past governor of Oyo state under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party officially joined the ruling All Progressives Congress in December 2017.

Many believed that he negotiated a Senatorial ticket in defecting to the APC.

But fresh revelation has it that Akala is still clinging to his ambition to return to office as Governor.

He said to have made moves – which ruffled the feathers of Governor Ajimobi- in this direction after joining the APC.

The development is said to have “soured” the arrangement which brought him to APC.

Interestingly unlike others who defected from the PDP to the APC, Akala’s corruption case with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has refused to “die”, just like his gubernatorial ambition.
