The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has appointed several leaders and members of the City Boy Movement (CBM) to key positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Among those appointed are Ayodele Olawande, Co-Patron of the movement, who will serve as Director of the Council’s Directorate of Youth Mobilisation; Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, Director-General of CBM, appointed Secretary II of the Directorate of Support Group Mobilisation; and O’tega Ogra, Deputy Director-General for Media, Communications and Public Affairs, appointed to the Directorate of Media and Strategic Communications.

The appointments also cover members drawn from the movement’s Governing Board, National Working Committee, deputy directors-general and grassroots structures across the country.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the movement welcomed the appointments, describing them as an opportunity for its members to contribute more directly to the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections.
Shoga said the appointments recognised the contributions of members who had invested time and resources in building the movement’s structures nationwide.

“These appointments are significant for the City Boy Movement and the many individuals who have committed their time, energy and resources to building and strengthening our structures across Nigeria,” he said.

He expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in the appointees, adding that the movement would work with the APC, the Presidential Campaign Council and other support groups towards their shared objectives.

“As a platform that brings together supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across political and social divides, we remain committed to working constructively with the APC, the Presidential Campaign Council and other support groups towards our shared objectives,” Shoga said.

Ogra said the appointments highlighted the contributions of members who had helped expand the movement’s presence across the country through community engagement and grassroots mobilisation.

“Behind the growth of the City Boy Movement are dedicated individuals who have invested their time, resources and personal effort in building relationships, mobilising communities and strengthening our structures across the country,” he said.

He added that the appointments carried responsibilities, particularly in coordinating campaign activities, communicating responsibly and working with political stakeholders.

“As we take on our respective roles, our focus must remain on effective coordination, responsible communication and constructive collaboration with the APC and other stakeholders,” Ogra said.

The movement congratulated the leadership and members of the newly inaugurated Presidential Campaign Council and thanked President Tinubu and the APC leadership for the confidence placed in its members.

It also reaffirmed its support for Tinubu and his Renewed Hope agenda, pledging to deploy its nationwide networks, grassroots experience and organisational capacity towards the president’s re-election bid in 2027.

The appointments come as political parties and affiliated support groups begin preparations for the next general elections, with mobilisation and coordination expected to feature prominently in efforts to build campaign structures across the country.
