No fewer than 15,000 patients are expected to benefit from a free medical mission being organised in Ogun East Senatorial District by former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

The medical mission, organised as part of the Gateway Front Foundation’s 25th anniversary, GFF@25, will run from October 9 to 24, 2026, with doctors from Sharing Hope Medical Mission in the United States expected to arrive in Ogun within the next five days.

More than 50 medical doctors are expected to participate in the exercise, offering free consultations, medication, eye care, dental care and major and minor surgeries.

The surgical procedures will include gynaecological, orthopaedic and plastic surgeries, particularly burn-related procedures.
The main surgical component will be held at the Redeemers Health Village, RCCG Camp, Mowe, with surgeries scheduled from October 9 to 16.

The organisers said only patients requiring surgery would be referred to the Redeemers Health Village, while other aspects of the medical intervention would be decentralised across the nine local government areas of Ogun East Senatorial District.

The exercise will also provide professional training for healthcare practitioners, with participants expected to receive internationally recognised certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, Stop the Bleed and Advanced Paediatric Life Support.

The American medical team will also deliver advanced surgical lectures as part of the training component.

The decentralised programme will begin on October 9 in Ijebu North, followed by Ijebu North East on October 10, Sagamu on October 12, Ijebu Ode on October 13, Ogun Waterside on October 14, Ikenne on October 15, Odogbolu on October 16, Ijebu East on October 17 and Remo North on October 18.

Additional services will be available at the RCCG City, Arch Area, Health Village, Redemption City, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, between October 9 and 16.

The organisers described the initiative as part of the GFF@25 anniversary activities, with the medical mission aimed at providing access to free healthcare while strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals in the region.
