‘Your Month Of Coming Back To Office’ – Fubara Gets Over 8k New Month Wishes
far higher than his usual interaction over the past seven months
Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is enjoying massive goodwill ahead of his anticipated return to office.
Fubara was suspended on March 18, 2025, following a state of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu amid political turmoil that crippled governance in Rivers State.
The suspension, which also affected his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, was to last an initial six months.
Since then, Fubara has moved to reconcile with his adversaries, particularly his estranged political godfather, Nyesom Wike. With issues reportedly resolved, many now expect the suspension to be lifted once the emergency rule expires on September 18, 2025.
In anticipation of this, the Governor’s new month post on his verified Facebook page attracted unprecedented engagement.
Welcoming September, he received more than 8,000 comments — far higher than his usual interaction over the past seven months — with the majority wishing him well and echoing hopes of his comeback.
A recurring theme was captured in a comment by Elum Sabastine C, who wrote: “Welcome to ur month of coming back to office.”
But not all responses were sympathetic. Some seized the moment to taunt him. Linus Agada, for instance, posted: “Happy New Month, but please don’t fight Lion next time.”
For many, the tone of these mixed reactions suggests that while Fubara may return to office, he will do so as a more humbled Governor.
