Guber Aspirant, Ladi Adebutu Roped Into PDP’s Stolen Register Mess

…As pencilled deputy Ogundele, Ex Gov Daniel’s aide get bail

Information filtering in have it that gubernatorial aspirant Ladi Adebutu is roped into the stolen party register mess causing ripples in Ogun state.

Party Leader Kashamu Buruji had instigated the police to effect arrest of Adebutu’s earmarked Deputy, Sikirulai Ogundele and an aide to former governor of Ogun state, Gbenga Daniel over allegations of attempt to steal the People’s Democratic Party register in the state.

Ogundele and the former governor’s aide were reportedly said to have employed others to carry out the act.
The perpetrators were reportedly nabbed based on tip off to the police by Kashamu’s agents.

But contrary to expectations they were arrested with papers other than the party register on their way back from the party secretariat at the time of arrest.

The arrest was reportedly made in the night of Sunday April 17 2016.

Sources claimed the development occurred in the night.

Insiders confirmed those arrested gave up the names of Adebutu’s earmarked deputy, Sikirulai Ogundele and former governor Gbenga Daniel’s aide.

Added information revealed the Kashamu camp fingered Ogundele as acting at the behest of gubernatorial aspirant, Adebutu.

Also alleged as party of the plot is Adebutu’s regional backer, Waliu Taiwo the PDP strongman in Ota Ogun state.

At stake in the unfolding stolen register drama is said to be the control of the party executive.

The party’s convention kicks off in a couple of days time and the register contains names of those eligible to vote and their numbers.

At present the state executives of party are said to be made up of loyalists of Kashamu Buruji, who is also a sitting Senator.

While he is working hard to maintain the status quo, other players are seeking ways to effect a takeover with the coming convention.

Societynowng.com learnt all those accused were invited to the office of the commissioner of the Ogun state Commissioner of Police on Monday April 18 for questioning.

”It was a session of dramatic accusations and counter accusations” a source confirmed.

Societynowng.com learnt the tense meeting resulted in directive by the commissioner that all those apprehended Sunday night and Ogundele and former Governor Daniel’s aide charged to court and while police retains their interest in the matter.

Sources confirmed they were able to secure bail but couldn’t perfect the conditions at first appearance Wednesday April 20 2016.

The drama is said to be ongoing at press time.
