As part of its unrelenting efforts to delivering sustainable development in health, education, and social development in Africa,- particularly nigeria – the Abdul Samad Rabiu (ASR) Africa Initiative has started the process of building a state of the art hostel block for the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMinna), Niger state.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the project donated to the FUTMinna by the foundation founded by Abdul Samad Rabiu, the chairman of conglomerate making high impact contributions to the nation’s economy, BUA Group – was done on Tuesday April 30, 2024.

Here are 5 things you should know about the project which Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta declared would help reduce ” the number of students that are exposed to insecurity and other vices outside the university campus”.

 1, The hostel is designed as apartment styled accommodations

2, The state-of-the-art facility will accommodate over 100 students .

3, The in-tune with modern touch block of hostel will boast of auxiliary facilities such as laundries, kitchenettes, common rooms, and the warden’s room.

Saka (Chief Librarian), Mrs. Hadiza Goje (Bursar), Dr. Ubon Udoh (MD/CEO, ASR Africa), Prof  Faruk Adamu Kuta (Vice Chancellor), Prof Uno Uno, (Deputy Vice Chancellor, Admin) and Mr. Amos Kolo (Registrar) during the groundbreaking ceremony which held at the Fed. University of Technology, Minna.

4, Each room at the what is designed as home-away-from-home will posses an en-suite bath and water closet facilities – independent convenience and shower

5, The block of hostel will provide contemporary hostel accommodation for undergraduate students within the university’s main campus.

The state of the art state-of-the-art hostel block for the Federal University of Technology, Minna is one of education boosters ASR Africa Initiative has been growing across different universities with an annual $100million Tertiary Education Grant Scheme – Since 2021.

Among the ASR Africa Initiative’s education – and beyond education – enhancer projects across the nation’s higher institutions of learnings are the N250million Ultra-Modern Sports Complex in the university of jos , the N1B Career Support & Cleaner Energy Solutions Center at University of Ibadan, the N1 billion Naira Abdul Samad Rabiu International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at University of Maiduguri, Ultra-modern Student Affairs Center at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Anambra State, the N250 million College of Health Sciences Office Block for Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto State and the N250million Admin Block and a Conference Room for the Al-Qalam University, Katsina.
