One ‘Smoke’ Too Many, Celebrity Singer, Wizkid Nabbed For ‘Prohibited’ pleasure

‘Smoke’, is one of the inner caucus street slang for intoxicant, Marijuana.

And after years of denial, singer with cult following- Wizkid (Ayodeji Balogun) was reportedly arrested for indulging the prohibited act in a non smoking area.

Information sourced from Kenta Newspaper, Standard Digital revealed the Singer was arrested and fined for smoking Marijuana in his hotel room while on performance cum phot shoot trip to that part of the world.

The incident reportedly transpired on Saturday, October 25 2014.

The Kenya Newspaper report has it that the occurrence came to be just past midday, after a performance.

‘The incident happened at around 1pm just as the Caro singer was checking out of his hotel room where he has been staying for a week, since his last week’s concert’

Added information revealed the celebrated entertainer resorted to war of words with hotel management when accosted over the action which flouts laid down rules and regulations.

The law enforcers from to Capital Hill Police Station were reportedly brought to douse the situation at the Nairobi Crowne Hotel venue of the incident.

The singer’s arrest was reportedly effected over the occurrence- and he was made to up a KSh50,000 fine before he was released following intervention from fellow performer, Victoria Kimani.
