Informed sources have confided in societynow.ng that Osun political top gun Otunba Iyiola Omisore is fighting a battle of his life politically.

And his loss at his voting centre during the Saturday, February 23, 2019, presidential and national assembly election is said to be responsible for the trouble he is currently facing.

The situation has evidently put his perceived hold on his stronghold of  Ile-Ife and Ife/ Ijesa senatorial district at large in doubt societynow.ng checks indicate.

Omisore lost his Ife constituency house of representative’s seat to Mr Bimbo Ajilesoro of opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

Also, ex-customs boss Adenigba Fadahunsi of PDP defeated Ajibola Famurewa the APC candidate backed by Omisore in Ife/Ijesa senatorial district.

A source who understands the former senator’s current situation maintains that Omisore is faced with bleak future in the party he joined not too long ago.

Further digs showed his men are battling the same situation across the state.

They are battling growing talks that Omisore and his men are not adding the expected value to the ruling party.

“The belief of those who lured Omisore into APC is that his presence will help them to win all election in his domain. But that did not happen as he did not only lose his Ife constituency seat but also the senatorial election”, another source disclosed.

A prominent member of Omisore political group maintained that their chance of getting slots in Oyetola led government in Osun State depends largely on winning state assembly election in the state.

Thus they see today’s March 9, 2019, state assembly election as a must-win contest.

“You know our chance of getting any political office in this government depends on the outcome of house assembly election. As you can see our performance during the presidential election is nothing to write home about and that is why we are doubling our effort to ensure victory at the assembly election, an insider divulged.

Senator Iyiola Omisore was the major power in Osun PDP but left when it became obvious he could not get the party’s gubernatorial ticket.

He moved to a less popular political party social Democratic Party (SDP) where he contested the last governorship election.

Interestingly he came a distant third in the contest but went ahead to work for the eventual winner and candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress Gboyega Oyetola during the rerun election.

Oyetola defeated the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party Ademola Adeleke to become incumbent governor of Osun state.
